Description

When Albert Stockwell (Rufus Sewell, Dark City, Illuminata) comes home from work one day he finds a note from his wife of 15 years, Nancy (Maria Bello, A History of Violence, Thank You for Smoking), saying she has gone to see friends. After waiting several days, Albert realizes that his wife is missing. Nancy has met her salvation on the Internet in the form of Louis Farley (Jason Patric, The Lost Boys, Rush). Nancy and Louis, both wounded souls, take comfort in one another through e-mail, pictures, and promises of perverse sexual encounters. Nancy has finally found the one and only thing that can liberate her from the pain in her life. While she pursues the freedom that she feels will only come with ultimate liberation, Albert is left to put the pieces together and try to salvage what is left.

bin zufällig auf den film gestossen und hatte vorher keine ahnung worum es darin geht. muss sagen, hier trifft die abgedroschene bezeichnung "atmosphärisch dicht" ausnahmsweise mal den nagel auf den kopf.
man spürt die ausweglosigkeit der nancy während der kompletten laufzeit. dieser film lässt einem leicht verstört zurück und ist gerade deshalb absolut empfehlenswert.

mit maria bello und vor allem jason patric spielen hier zwei der meistunterschätzen schauspieler aus hollywood. dieser film ist sehr packend und alle rollen sind grandios besetzt. in einer der ersten szenen, als jason patric, maria bello im busbahnhof abholt, tanzt im hintergrund ein alter mann im kreis. etwas vom besten, dass ich in letzter zeit gesehen habe.

lange wartete ich auf diesen Film und endlich kommt er....Maria bello übertrifft sich selbst und liefert eine verstörende performance ab welche im gedächtnis hängen bleibt. Hochaktuell und äusserst deprimierend
